ARM Capital Patners' investment team has led, executed, managed and exited investments in the Fund’s geographic and sector focus and has gained an appreciation for the operational and transactional issues relevant to investing in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa. We have accumulated an extensive network of relationships with strategic investors, financial institutions and political and government officials, as well as intermediaries with a long-term commitment to the region.
The members of the investment team are:
Vlassis Liakouris is the Managing Director of ARM Capital Partners and a member of the Fund’s Investment Committee. Prior to joining ARM Capital Partners, Vlassis spent 8 years with Flour Mills of Nigeria plc in different senior capacities. Most recently he was Group Treasury Director, where between 2010 and 2011 negotiated and structured several debt and equity transactions worth over US$850mn. From 2007-2009 he was the pioneer Deputy Managing Director of UNICEM, a US$800mn JV amongst Holcim, Lafarge and Flour Mills of Nigeria for a greenfield cement factory in Southeastern Nigeria, where he played a pivotal role in delivering a highly complex project and steering the organization to the operational phase. Vlassis also served as the interim CFO of Unicem in 2004 during its formative stages. From 2004-2006 he was Group Budgeting Director at Flour Mills of Nigeria where he led several strategic initiatives aimed at streamlining management reporting and visibility, performance management and cost avoidance. He, also, led several corporate finance transactions, including the privatization of Apapa bulk terminal. Previously, he spent nearly 10 years, in different private equity and investment banking roles in Southeastern Europe where he was exposed to a large number of private equity transactions cutting across a wide range of sectors and countries. Vlassis holds an MBA (Finance) from ALBA Graduate School of Business, a MA in Political Science & Social Theory from Athens University and a MA in Sociology from the University of Sofia. He is, also, an IMD alumnus (PED).
Emeka Emenike is a Vice President with ARM Capital Partners. He has 16 years work experience with leading organizations in the Nigerian market spanning the oil field services, commercial banking, investment management and private equity space. Most recently, he was team lead for Principal Investments at ARM where he gained significant transaction experience across private equity, infrastructure and real estate. Emeka earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Marshall Business School of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
